The steel city has been my home since 2019.
Growing up in the Peak District, trips to Sheffield were frequent and, to a younger version of myself, much appreciated to break out from the perceived claustrophobia of small village life.
This is a green city. Cherry blossom trees line many of the steep, straight side streets. Parks are scattered throughout the concrete jungle. The Peak District is just a stones throw away from the city limits.
For a man who does not take easily to urban living, it’s about as good as it gets!
The people are friendly, the food is good, and the weather is horrific. It feels just like home.
Whilst I don’t have any concrete plans to stay here for too much longer, having lived around this area my entire life, I am very much appreciative of what this city has to offer and it will always hold a special place in my heart.
This is an ongoing project aiming to document my experiences here and show off some of this proud and often misunderstood city.
It’s not just Arctic Monkeys and Hendos…
