This was the trip I rediscovered my love for film photography.

A trip to Cornwall during a British heatwave. Two film cameras and a bag full of Ilford HP5 Plus and Kodak Gold 200.

This trip solidified my love for film photography and sparked the launch of Fred Shoots Film – I felt deep in my bones that I never wanted to stop doing this and that I wanted to really commit to my process and start something “properly”.

Along with my girlfriend and our wonderful friend Bryony, the trip started out in Fowey, a port town in South Cornwall.

From here, we did a day trip to the lost gardens at Heligan, which was one of the most magical experiences I’ve had in the UK – I cannot wait to return.

We then travelled to my girlfriend’s family home in St Mawes, which is a tiny little village at the very end of the Roseland Peninsula, just across the water from Falmouth.

I will forever be grateful for this trip and I am so glad I could document it in some way or another.
